Things To Do Nearby: Camping Around Pyeongtaek

There are two spots that I know of close-by:
The first is in Anseong (70 sites est., no electricity) and the other is a 15 min. drive away in Asan (19 sites, water, electricity, showers, basket ball hoop, tree swing, trail, and toilets w/ no tp). UPDATE: Here’s another a little further out on the coast.
Both cost 15,000 won/night (one tent per site) and require that you book a few weeks in advanced.
Empty during the week and winters, packed on weekends. The summers are too hot for it, fall is perfect. Make sure to be there before 10 or 11 am to get a good spot. You should reserve your site online (Korean).
Go with a bunch of friends, a family, perhaps borrow a big tent (my one-person tent was out of place). Camping is becoming an enormously popular outing in recent years, father’s often go off with friends, but this brings the family together. Expect some noise, kids playing, animated conversations and all that, the ground’s lights to blot out the stars - but also expect to have fun. So, bring food, drinks, games, a kite, ball and gloves and people. This has the making of a village fair, with a few nature trails in the mix.
